The title of the Essay is: "How American History Has Affected Contemporary Life in San Luis Obispo County." The Essay competition is not for conventional historical writing, but for the most profound and acute observation of how history has affected the life of the writer. The Essay should be between 800 and 1000 words in length and must be submitted in both type-written and digital format (Word or Word Perfect). |
| The Essay must be submitted by April 30, 2016 to Ms. Nikki Mancini-Schmidt, Secretary, Stairs Carskaddon Essay Scholarship Committee, as provided in the Instructions of the enclosed form of Application. The winner will be announced by May 21, 2016. |
